Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope
MICAH is a multi-racial, interfaith organization committed to addressing social justice issues that have an impact on the community and on the members of MICAH congregations. MICAH’s goal is to empower people to act together in pursuit of justice and to organize so that people of many traditions can come together with one voice for justice.
Join MICAH as we Take it to the Streets on Monday, June 4
MICAH members will be stepping out on Monday, June 4. Our goal is to meet some of our neighbors, to listen to them, and to let them know about MICAH and the issues we care about.
We will gather at 5:00 pm in the first floor conference room at MICAH’s office building — 2821 N. 4th St. There will be a brief training. Then, we will go out in two groups:
–One group will speak with people about the Job Lines (the endangered bus routes that take people to suburban jobs from the north side).
–The other group will talk about the need to close the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (MSDF)
Both groups will have petitions for people to sign, and some information inviting people to be involved with MICAH.
This is a great chance to take MICAH to the broader community. Join us. There is no experience necessary, and we will not leave you alone!
