Education

We believe that education is the foundation for a thriving community. The MICAH Education Task Force is currently engaged in an ongoing campaign to hold Milwaukee Public Schools to an expectation of transparency and accountability regarding the historic and unacceptable opportunity gaps in the education of our Black students, as well as the disproportionate discipline of Black male students.

Bold Action, Clear Accountability

MICAH calls for continued transparency from the Milwaukee Board of School Directors and MPS administration in sharing data and in including parents and the community in decisions regarding all aspects of equity efforts in MPS. We develop parents, caregivers, school and community members to be courageous and actively lead in the decision making structures that impact Milwaukee students.

As Thomas Jefferson said, “A democratic society depends upon an informed and educated citizenry.” Our education system depends on an active democracy, which is why we are canvassing voters ahead of the 2026 election.
