MICAH Black History Program 2025 Recap
On February 27, 2025, MICAH hosted an inspiring and impactful Black History Program under the theme:
🎤 “Black Excellence is Not a Trend; It’s a Legacy.”
The event was a huge success, featuring an empowering visit from Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, who shared words of encouragement and motivation.
Our panel of young, passionate African American leaders engaged in a dynamic discussion on civil rights, government, future aspirations, faith, social justice, and community issues—including a conversation about the Milwaukee Police Department.
🌟 Moderator:
- Mr. De’Younte Ramsey – UW-Whitewater Program Specialist
🎙️ Panelists:
- Mr. Lawrence Brooks – Youth Advocate
- Miss Chanese Knox – Community Activist (Chanese for Justice)
- Miss LaResha Love – Community School Coordinator (Hopkins Lloyd Community School)

Their insights were detailed, passionate, and thought-provoking, sparking meaningful dialogue. The audience was engaged, and the exchange of ideas reflected the strength and resilience of our community.
We also enjoyed a delicious meal and took time for fellowship, connection, and reflection.
